Hello, in my opinion, the answer may not be as concrete as you expect. I can't speak for the casino and am not familiar with the math details between your account and your friends. From a practical point of view, casinos may decide they are not able to distinguish enough between those two accounts, which in an online environment is not comparable to playing in a brick-and-mortar casino. So, it's always dependent on the scale of the matches.
I cannot promise you resolution since sports betting is involved, but you can lodge a free complaint request against the casino. It's the worst-case scenario; the request won't get through, but it's free, thus worth a try in my opinion.
