Hi! Antillephone is not the only one. Major changes have been made to the entire Curacao licensing system, which now unifies all sublicenses under a single major authority. However, it is not as simple as they most likely thought. Do you perhaps have actual details? As far as we know so far, this new body won't most likely address players' complaints, and we try to sum up our own approach toward these events...
Pretty sure I made a post about this last year when it was first announced lol
The only details I have are what I come across online. I'd actually expect you guys to have much more detailed information than I can find, although licensing doesn't really affect affiliates all that much. If anything, it makes it much simpler for people to say they're licensed by the Government of Curacao instead of trying to remember which of the four "Master License" holders licensed any specific casino.
To be honest, if people actually took the time to find out more about the operator side of things, I think most would be horrified to see just how unprotected the players really are, as it's like the wild west in this industry; Regulation is just for show. It's a way for the governments to get a piece of the pie for doing literally nothing. The "operator" of any given casino is usually just a shell company registered where they hold a license. They're nothing more than a computer and a mailbox. The Curacao "Master License" holders are likely the same thing.
The Antillephone validator is used by at least one of the new licensing bodies out there. Might be the Anjouan one. They're website is literally the same one Antillephone NV used to use (gaminglicensing.com). It's no wonder these "regulators" never take action; there's nobody there to do so! It's literally a bank account that the parent company deposits money into so they can display a license on their page and people will feel better about playing there.
I'm gonna stop now... this has been longwinded enough lol
The situation actually a bit escalated a while ago. Therefor we assigned a specialist to keep up with these events; for example, resolving complaints is our eminent area of interest, yet surprising enough, getting any info aside from what you come across on the internet has proven impossible...
Getting any kind of official confirmation is like hunting a unicorn.
Once more, you said that well. One instead of numerous master licenses. Quite an expected side effect of rising the same sort of e.g., Anjuan/Comoros won't help to increase the protection much. 😀
The Complaint Team team has a rather good "inside joke": let us take over and act as the Curacao Gaming Board's ADR. Since we have been handling cases on our level anyhow, the players would undoubtedly benefit most from this. Wel...
Since the licensing authority should also properly oversee many different aspects of the industry, I am not convinced that a significant improvement is imminent.
..I am not convinced that a significant improvement is imminent.
I think it will actually be worse.
With no competition, they will be free to raise licensing fees, prompting operators to switch to lower RTP versions of games.
As it is right now, most of the places running default RTP are in Curacao. This is likely a result of their cheaper licensing fees, as a cheaper license leaves more money for players. Take away the cheap license but continue on with little regulatory oversight due to lazy administration, and you will see player complaints due to non-payment spike over the next 12 months.
If I'm wrong, I'll eat my spacebar.

😂 Good one!
Save your space bar for later. Perhaps the future is much brighter than we can now recognize. However...
