What bankroll tips have you found useful?

I’ve found discussions about setting spending limits and keeping track of sessions quite useful. Even when trying different titles from TaDa Gaming, I think having a sensible bankroll plan is more important than chasing losses.

What bankroll management tips have worked best for you?

Simple rules are easier to follow when you use them every time. Setting a clear limit before starting has always seemed like the simplest rule. I also think it helps to decide the session length in advance. Keeping gambling money separate from regular spending makes the limit easier to protect. If the planned amount is gone, I would stop instead of trying to win it back. 

One thing that helps me is deciding the session budget before I start and treating it as spent money from the beginning. It makes it much easier to stop instead of increasing bets just because the session is going badly.

I just set a limit and don’t top it up mid-session. Makes it much easier not to chase losses.

pay quite a lot of attention to game volatility. If my bankroll is small, I avoid slots where a few bad spins can wipe out half of it; I’d rather have enough room for a normal session

Good tips already in this thread. One thing worth adding: bonus wagering requirements are easy to leave out of the bankroll math. A high-wagering bonus can quietly stretch a session well past what was planned, since it's tempting to keep going to clear the requirement rather than stopping once the "real" budget is gone. Setting a deposit limit based on the amount you're fully fine losing outright – treating any bonus as a bonus, not as extra budget – keeps the two separate and makes the stopping point easier to actually stick to.

I used to be rubbish at this, but I changed my mind-set and treated it more like an event such as going out, where I have a finite amount to spend, and once that is reached that is a hard stop to playing. I have found this helps me stay on track.

I think that after a good win you should withdraw your money and not continue to get carried away with gambling, it doesn’t lead to anything good.
