A little warning here for the CG Community: Casino Guru is an open platform where everyone is free to share their thoughts and opinions. We believe in free speech and try to be as non-restrictive as possible. That said, please remember: just because something is posted on the forum doesn’t mean Casino Guru agrees with it or endorses it in any way. We’re really happy to see players engaging in conversations, debating respectfully, and having fun doing so! That’s why we created this platform. However, we’ve noticed a growing trend – not just here, but across other platforms too – where some players, after losing money fairly in a casino, look for ways to get those funds back through their bank or payment provider, often by filing chargebacks or making false claims. We’d like to warn you: this behaviour is not only unfair – it’s also very risky! We’ve already seen and heard stories (here and elsewhere) of people who got into serious trouble trying to go down this route – including closed casino accounts across multiple platforms, closed bank accounts, debts, and even lawsuits (attempted fraud). Attempting fraud or misrepresenting the truth to a bank or provider is never a good idea and could have lasting consequences. So here’s our friendly appeal to all Casino Guru community members: Stand up against unfair and dishonest casinos. Use our Complaints Resolution Center if you need help – you don’t have to fight alone. But please don’t try to get back money you’ve fairly lost. It’s simply not worth the risk. Thanks for being part of our community – and have a great day!

That will not happen. It's you right as costumer to ask for information about transactions on your account and they have to provide it. You don't involve the bank in further actions. You contact directly the Acquirer for resolution.

Under GDPR Article 15, you can request access to your personal data and information about how it has been processed, including relevant transaction data, recipients and third parties involved.

As a consumer, you can also request information about the payment transaction and the parties involved in processing it.

I would specifically request the Acquirer ID, Acquirer name/legal entity, Merchant ID, merchant descriptor, MCC, ARN, transaction ID and any payment processor or intermediary involved.

These rights can help you identify who actually processed the payment and determine who a complaint should be directed to.

It all comes down to how you present your complaint.

You need solid evidence, such as incorrect MCC codes, the correct TRI from the beginning, the correct contact route and email address, and a clear explanation of the issue.

It is also important to escalate the complaint to the relevant supervisory authority responsible for the Acquirer if the matter is not resolved.

I have personally received refunds from four different Acquirers. Depending on the Acquirer, the process took between 2 days and, at most, one week.

So in my experience, it can work — but the complaint needs to be properly documented and sent to the right party through the correct channel.

Those transactions were from a long time ago, so I doubt there would be anyway of having these refunded. I accepted this as a loss back then, so I will just leave that specific transaction. On the other hand I made the mistake of using a dodgy casino recently after going back onto gamstop. I should look into these:

COMELOT and sph wlt as shown on my bank statement. Both showing as Online/phone/mail order purchase. However they show as different Business types

sph wl

Business type:

Financial Institutions - Merchandises and Services

COMELOT

Business type:

Computer Programming, Data Processing and Inaugurated Systems, Design Services

Did you see my list of merchants?

The ones on the right under refunds have been mostly successful doing chargebacks on monzo. Monzo decline my disputes but some of the merchants refunded after 2 days. The rest of my merchants no joy.

Sonect and pprince.io refunded when I contacted there emails. Any idea of payment processors for the rest of my merchants ideally EUPLOPQI, HUPEIWE, FLOXYHEALTH, TERRVERS, TRVERS and WEBMOSAC. Thanks

Hi

The only way to get all necessary information about Acquirer behind Merchant inkl all MCC info etc is through your bank.

Check out my posts for guidance.

Unfortunately, my banks have not been very helpful.

Instead, I requested all available information about my transactions and contacted the Acquirers directly. The results have been very positive.

All four Acquirers I have contacted have issued refunds — in some cases within 2 days and, at the latest, within one week.

Chargeback can work if your bank is willing to assist, but you generally only get one opportunity to pursue the chargeback and the applicable process is subject to a 120-day timeframe.

A direct complaint to the Acquirer is a different route. If you have the correct TRI and submit the complaint to the right Acquirer through the correct channel, the process can be much quicker. It may also be possible to complain even when the transaction is several years old, depending on the Acquirer's applicable regulatory framework and the type of complaint.

For example, the FCA generally allows complaints to be made within 6 years from the event, or, if later, 3 years from the date the consumer became aware that they had cause to complain.

In my experience, identifying the correct Acquirer and submitting a properly documented complaint is therefore extremely important.

In my cases, DECTA has been the only Acquirer that has taken a long time without any concrete result so far.file

My posts are not about specific Merchant's. I have posted guidelines and the correct strategies to find out who the Acquirer behind the Merchant's are. Direct contact with Merchant's rarely helps. Most of Merchant's are shell descriptors and impossible to contact and get a answer.

Focus on chargeback through your card provider/bank and parallel send a complaint to Acquirer.

This turns out to be very intriguing. I have thought of banks as the only feasible source of information connected to the given transactions hence was unaware that it is sometimes better to reach out to the Acquirer directly.

However, it seems that the part concerning the process of determining the right Acquirer is the hardest one. It would be nice to learn about how one can check this information before lodging a claim.
