Starling bank are telling me they do not have to initiate the chargebacks as even though they were miscoded starling knew they were for gambling ??

They told me this too and refused to initiate chargebacks

I need to build an even stronger case than I already have against starling

If gambling has been mentioned with Starling, then it’s like banging your head against a brick wall. Ultimately I got nowhere with the ones where I mentioned gambling, I put in complaints because of how evasive and unhelpful they’ve been, and received a tiny amount of compensation because the investigator agreed it was handled badly, but still refused to file chargebacks .

Only success I had with Starling was where I went goods not received, no mention of gambling, and could provide invoices.

No they just ignored me. I can only assume too many people asked and so now they are ignoring everyone. Did you try?

Ah that’s not great. Atleast if you tried to make contact with them and no communication could be had then that will work in your favour if you need to take it up with your bank 👍

Sometimes it has been said they don't email just refund. They didn't reply to me for about 5 days

You will find that the FOS will side with them as well.

It's almost as if the FOS is there to protect the Financial institutions and not the consumers.
